I successfully restored and modified a 1990 Honda Accord to compete in the demanding 24 Hours of Lemons race. This project involved a multifaceted approach that extended beyond just the mechanics of the vehicle. Over the course of three months, I raised over $4,000 through effective fundraising efforts, ensuring we had the necessary resources to participate. To prepare the car for competition, I meticulously overhauled the vehicle's suspension system, which included replacing coilovers, control arms, and ball joints, all with a focus on race legality.
Additionally, I took charge of organizing the logistics for the crew and drivers on race day, ensuring a seamless and efficient operation. Our hard work culminated in successfully racing the car in two events: the Yokohama Days of Thunderhill on May 28, 2022, and the Yokohama Buttonwillow on October 1-2, 2022. These experiences not only showcased my technical prowess in automotive engineering but also demonstrated my leadership and organizational skills in a high-pressure racing environment.
